The Saka Company of Burlington, Vt., run in conjunction with the Vermont Yoga Studio, takes a functional approach to design as well. According to designer Liza Ciano, Saka's messenger-style bag "is especially great in the city to escape having to juggle a yoga mat, purse and gym bag." The company's bags are also designed to fit the lifestyle needs of the students. For example, the stylish limited-edition UnFur bag is covered in fluffy white faux fur and intended to "combine the yoga principle of ahimsa(nonviolence) with an actual product," explained Ciano. "People who use the bag could talk about animal rights."
